Miracles

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”...... Albert Einstein

I love this quote, and I've been thinking about it a lot lately.  What this scientific and mathematical genius said is 100% true.  There really are only two ways to live your life, and they are just as described above.  We either believe that EVERYTHING is a miracle, or that NOTHING is.

Note that he doesn't say "as though miracles exist," or "as though some things are miracles."  Rather, he uses the terms "nothing" or "everything."  This is very specific.  You're either a Nothing person or an Everything person... there are no Somethings people.  Although we can all imagine how some people in the Nothing category live their lives, I would like to skip them and go straight to the Everything people.

Everything people know that everything they have is a gift from God.  They recognize that every time the sun comes up it's a new day; a new chance to get better and improve.

Everything people realize that every success they have; every test they passed; every time their brakes work properly when needed is a miracle.

Everything people realize that everything happens for a reason, and that there are things that they can learn from every situation and from every person around them.

Take breathing for example.... When was the last time you did it?  How many times did you breathe today?  Do you know what you breathed?.....  Isn't it a miracle that you don't have to think about breathing?  Isn't it a miracle that the stuff we need to breathe and to keep our bodies alive is in the air all around us?  In fact, IT IS THE AIR!  That's the stuff that we breathe!  How cool is that!  Isn't it a miracle that our body does all of that for us?  Isn't it a miracle that we even have bodies?

The sun, the moon, the blue sky, air, water, our hands, our eyes, our brains, prehensile thumbs, peanut butter, electricity, computers, not passing that class in college, plants growing from sunlight, bees pollinating everything and making honey, Italian food...... ALL of these are miracles!!!  Actually, everything is.

So next time you wake up, or walk outside, look around and notice how many miracles you can see, because really, after all... there are only two ways to live your life.  Which one are you living?

I'M BACK!!!!

And when I say I'm back, I mean I'm back, and have been for almost a year now.  WOW how the time flies!... So yeah... How's it going blogging world?  I felt that I should break this long silence and get back into the the swing of things... Everything's about social media these days...  Does a blog count as social media?  It says I have 5 followers.  If any of you see this, I thank you sincerely.  You guys rock!  Well, I'll be off thinking of something clever to blog about.  Have a great day!

Waiting...

Waiting to leave on a mission is like trying to catch a stray piece of paper on a windy day....... just as you get close enough to touch it, the wind blows it a week away from you.

Excerpt

Once upon a time there was a magnificently vacant old house located deep in the mountains of an obscure western state. It was home to an immensely valuable doorstop fashioned after the image of a Scottish canine in the most exquisite example of modern metallurgy known to man....

Just checking if anybody reads this.

Can you tell that I'm bored?

I was eating Chocolate Cheerios for breakfast this morning, and as I neared the end of my cereal, there were 2 whole Cheerios left and two halves. Quite randomly they rearranged themselves to spell the word "COCO." It was a touching moment.

Awesomest Grandma Car EVER

This is my car. Well, was my car. We sold it. I could never think of a single name for this car, but I did manage to narrow it down to three. I appellated it The Jolly Green Giant, The Green Revolution, or The P.O.C. Okay, THAT was the name of my car- "The Jolly Green Giant, The Green Revolution, or The P.O.C."- That's what I used to introduce her as. Oh, that and "My Grandma Car," but that's a different story...

I had a lot of good memories in that car, some bad memories, and a whole bunch of weird memories, but I will always be grateful. It served me well. I will miss the constantly flashing "LOW COOLANT" light. Oh, and the 10-disc CD changer. THAT was awesome. So much better than the real radio.

Well, as for me, if I ever want to go anywhere in the next two and a half weeks, I'll be hoofin' it.... Literally- I just bought a horse.

Just kidding.

Tonight for dinner I had a Bison Bacon Cheeseburger. Now, I don't know for sure if it was really bison meat, but it was delicious. SO GOOD!!! I love bison.

Intelligent life?

I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey.
What. The. Heck. ?

Curiosity

I want to know what cats do at night. You know, while they're running around the neighborhood after dark, dodging headlights and hiding under parked cars. Seriously. Is it some kind of Secret Cat Combination? Should I be worried?
